"Caste poverty

India banned caste discrimination in 1950, but in many rural areas it is still prevalent. Those at the bottom - the Dalits - face the most discrimination. Few can own land and are forced to use separate wells.
Travelling to Bihar, in northern India, Stefan met a rice farmer and his family. They work 10 hours a day, seven days a week and are only paid in rice.
Like 50 million other families, the rice farming provides 80% of their calorie intake."
